I purchased a replacement Laptop AC charger and chose "next day delivery" for $21.95 and had it shipped to a business location I would be at the following 2 days. The next day I got an email saying the expected arrival date was 19 days in the future. I called Customer Service where they told me "next day" was after it reached the shipper, and they had to manufacture it. ( a 90W AC charger now). Poor service scheduling
DELL CUSTOMER SERVICE Consumer Complaint
At first,when my Inspiron14r's motherboard gave out, I was elated to discover that the warranty was still good and a replacement was coming my way. However, repeated mistakes from tech support led to two scheduling conflicts that I had tried to prevent. So, nearly three weeks later, no repair scheduled. So much for urgency; by now I'm putting serious thought into an ASUS laptop.
In summary, Dell support cannot be relied upon for quick and effective service.

On 3/21/2013 I bought a computer online at Dell. The computer is for my granddaughter who just started college. I brought from Dell, rather than using another online company that I have used in the past, because my son stated that Dell ships promptly, and, if I pay to have the shipping expedited, I should have no problem getting the computer within 3/4 days. On Thursday the 28, I purchased the Premier Quickbooks from Dell and downloaded it. But when I tried to open it, I get the message:
" Cannot download the application. The application is missing required filed. Contact application vendor for assistance."

I have not been able to download microsoft silverlight onto my ~2 year old computer making it impossible for me to log onto some of my work websites and now even netflix. I called Dell and first off the service agent from India answered in an unhappy tone and gruffly asked for a number that I had no idea what he was referring to.. Setting the whole tone for the 30 min useless conversation.

On Black Friday Dell offered a great deal on the Inspiron 14z. I received a letter yesterday letting me know that they oversold that model, and that they were substituting the 15 (Not Z or R) instead. I tried contacting Dell support through Chat, Phone and email. Never got a response through email. Chat people took a long time to respond, then could not help me. Dell shipped me a computer, and as it turned out, it had a bad sound card. Tried calling customer support, and with one exception, the so-called "techs" repeated the same thinhgs that I had already done, trying to "prove" that it was a software fault. The one exception was reverting the computer to original, wiping out everything I had done to set it up. Along the line, I was transferred several times, and hung up on once.

I bought a new XPS 15 laptop computer.
Day 12: hard drive failed and had to be replaced
Day 20 or so: Intenet crashed
Day 21: called Dell "service" 45 minutes later they said it was a sofware issue and would send a tumb drive to reinstall Wondows 7
Day 24: Thumbdrive arrived. Reinstalled Wondows and MANY issues remained
1. pull down menues would not pull down
2. log in name usually took3 times to take in email account
3. business email would only open in basic interface, not complete interface
4. internet still took several times to open and chrashes regularly

I contacted them within hours of noticing the purchase on my account, and was hung up on several times transferred over 15 times, with now resolve to my issue. I purchased a Dell Laptop 1 month back and I got the defective one. Battery is not proper. when I called Customer Care it took 15 mniutes to connect them then they asked me Service Tag no and then many things and said that we registering your complain but i am still waiting for a person who will resolve my new Laptop's H/w issue.

I bought an inspiron 1545 in July 2010 and I have had problems with the computer opening up tabs in windows, the curser doesn't always work, the font changes on it's own, etc. I have called Dell Customer Service a number of times and all they have to say is sorry you are having this problem. After two diagnostic test, done by Dell, they sent me a box to send the computer back. They supposidly replaced the Motherboard, but the problems are still there. I will never buy Dell again. This product is off the market, I guess they realized the Inspiron is a piece of junk!

On December 9 I ordered a Dell Inspiron 1545 Laptop with Windows 7. Unbeknownst to me, Dell has this ridiculous return policy where you have only 21 days from the order date. Of course, it takes over two weeks from the order date to receive your computer and then there are only a few days left if anything major goes wrong. My husband then came over and fixed everything for her with NO problem the next day.
I feel strongly that Dell's so called Tech Support tried to scam us and rip us off also. I feel they were no better then the hacker/scammer. I no longer have any respect for them.
