Told to WAIT 31 days for a refund of a duplicate order while OUT OF TOWN

Incorrect information from customer support lead to a terrible customer service experience with no results nor compensation. After my first order was placed, the pending transaction disappeared from my bank statement without removing the funds. I contacted customer support to ask why. I was TOLD by Dell Customer Support to reorder the laptop because my first order was cancelled because I am not a Dell Advantage Member. I am a Dell advantage member through my employer. About a week later, both laptops arrived at the same time. I was charged twice for the laptops about 12 hours apart. I tried to call the Dell Customer support line 7 times and was hung up on 7 times while on hold. In my attempt to cancel the order, stop delivery, or start the refund process, I was given 3 reference numbers in my phone calls to Dell, but not one representative would take my reference number. In fact, they would give me a new one after I mentioned my number. After reading my number to a representative in a condescending and annoyed voice he asked me "what kind of reference number is that?" before putting me on hold before I could answer. What is the point of reference numbers? I was told by customer support repeatedly they would make a note in my account of the situation, so I would not have to explain myself over and over again, but no note was made in my account. I was left 2 hours away from home with an overdrafted bank account and no way to return home. The best offer customer support gave to fixing the problem was to wait 31 days for a refund. Then when I was finally able to start the refund process, I had to go through a sales pitch trying to give a $50 discount to keep the computer. If someone had made a note in my account they would know that is the last thing I would want. I am disgusted by the customer service experience I encountered.
